4Drive Madeira acts as an intermediary booking service that connects you with independent rental providers operating in Madeira. We facilitate reservations but do not own vehicles or operate rental operations directly. The contract you sign at the rental desk is between you and the provider listed on your voucher. Read these terms before completing your booking.
4Drive Madeira operates a digital booking platform. When you reserve through our site, you receive a voucher specifying the rental provider who will handle your booking. That provider becomes your contracting party. We transmit your request, confirm availability, and issue booking documentation. The provider determines vehicle allocation, condition standards, and operational policies. Any modification, cancellation, or dispute resolution follows the specific provider's procedures outlined in your confirmation email.
The rental provider assumes full responsibility for vehicle condition, insurance coverage, roadside assistance, and compliance with Portuguese transport regulations. 4Drive Madeira does not inspect vehicles, verify maintenance records, or audit provider operations. We display information supplied by providers but cannot guarantee accuracy of vehicle specifications, equipment availability, or real-time stock levels. Claims regarding vehicle defects, accidents, or service quality must be directed to the provider named on your voucher.
The advance payment you submit through our platform secures your reservation and is transferred to the rental provider. This amount applies toward your total rental cost. The balance, along with any deposit requirements or optional coverage, is settled directly with the provider at their Madeira counter. Advance payment refund eligibility depends on cancellation timing and the specific provider's policy stated in your booking confirmation. Currency conversion rates, if applicable, follow standard payment processor terms at transaction time.
Drivers must meet minimum age thresholds, hold a valid license for the required period, and present documents specified by the provider. Restrictions on cross-border travel, ferry transport to Porto Santo, or driving on unpaved mountain tracks vary by provider and vehicle category. Violations of Portuguese traffic law (ER101 tunnel protocols, VR1 speed limits, Funchal parking restrictions) remain your responsibility. Fines issued by Polícia de Segurança Pública or municipal authorities will be forwarded to you with applicable administrative processing fees.
4Drive Madeira reserves the right to update these terms with thirty days' notice posted on this page. Bookings made before changes take effect remain subject to terms in force at reservation time.
