Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 2025
4Drive Madeira respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use our booking platform, how we process it, and what rights you hold under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What Information We Collect
When you submit a booking enquiry through our platform, we collect your name, email address, telephone number, pick-up and drop-off dates, selected vehicle category, and any additional remarks you provide. We store this data to forward your request to the local supplier and to communicate booking confirmations, vouchers, and updates.
Our servers log technical information automatically: IP address, browser type, referring URL, pages visited, and timestamp. This helps us diagnose errors and understand traffic patterns.
Cookies and Tracking
We use first-party cookies to remember your language preference and to maintain session state during the booking flow. Third-party analytics services (Google Analytics) place cookies to measure visit duration, bounce rate, and geographic distribution of visitors. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; some features may not function correctly if you do so.
Third-Party Services
Our booking widget connects you directly with local suppliers. When you complete a request, your contact details and booking parameters are transmitted securely to the selected partner company. Each supplier operates under its own privacy policy; we recommend reviewing their terms before finalising any agreement.
We do not sell or rent your personal data to marketers or data brokers. Payment processing for any advance payment is handled by certified payment gateways that comply with PCI DSS standards; 4Drive Madeira does not store credit-card numbers or CVV codes on our servers.
Data Retention and Security
Booking enquiries and correspondence are retained for two years to resolve disputes and improve service quality. After that period we delete personal identifiers unless legal obligations require longer retention. Technical logs are kept for ninety days.
We apply industry-standard safeguards: encrypted transmission (TLS), restricted administrative access, regular software updates, and automated backups stored in geographically separate data centres within the European Union.
Your Rights
You may request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask for corrections, request erasure ("right to be forgotten"), object to processing, or request a machine-readable copy (data portability). To exercise any of these rights, send an email to [email protected] with "Data Subject Request" in the subject line. We will respond within thirty days.
If you believe we have processed your data unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Portuguese Data Protection Authority (CNPD) or the supervisory authority in your country of residence.
Changes to This Policy
We update this document when our practices evolve or when regulations change. The revision date appears at the top of the page. Continued use of our platform after modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
